our Story
Like any local congregation, we are a part of a much larger story. Historically, the Highland Oaks Church of Christ was formed in 1855 (seriously… a really long time ago!) in Dallas, TX. Since its inception we have had up’s and down’s, location changes, and a host of people call us home.
Though our family’s DNA is rooted in the Churches of Christ, we believe you will find a church family that is becoming more than a rigid tradition or held captive by a legalistic past. The Highland Oaks Church is a diverse and vibrant family of disciples located in the Lake Highlands community of North Dallas.
Though we are comprised of various socio-economic backgrounds, multiple generations, and different church experiences, our story is shaped by a shared commitment to Christ and the work of the Spirit. We believe our story is still being written and God’s faithfulness has been evident through every chapter.
